August 9th, Saturday
Road Trip!
Instead of our regular Wednesday meeting in
August, we will move it to Saturday the 9th so we can see 2 great wood related
companies
Hearne Lumber in Oxford, PA: They are one
of the premier suppliers of wood in the US. Hearne Lumber cuts the wood used
by the George Nakashima Studio. Our tour of their facility starts at
9:00am. Here is their website.
Afterwards, we will drive to Kinloch
Woodworking just north of Kennett Square. They make
fabulous reproductions of colonial era furniture. Woodturnings are often
incorporated into their pieces so we can see how that is done.
Logistics for this trip are still being worked out
but carpooling is encouraged. More to follow on this.
FUNDRAISING: A 50/50 is held each meeting to add revenue to the club treasury.
