Blue Ball Barn Conference Center
Our annual Holiday Party will be Saturday, December 7th, at 12 noon. We will once again meet at the lovely Blue Ball Barn Conference Center, just off Rt. 202, Wilmington, Delaware. The address is: 1914 West Park Drive, Wilmington, DE 19803.
Blue Ball Barn is a beautiful, two-story facility nestled in the scenic Alapocas Run State Park in northern Delaware. Converted from a dairy barn built in 1914 by Alfred I. DuPont, this spacious meeting place also houses a collection of Delaware Folk Art.
As always, a catered lunch will be provided. Activities will include:
- Catered Lunch and Beverages
- Instant Gallery / Show & Tell
- Silent Auction (see details below)
- Turning Contest (see details below)
This luncheon is for FSW members and guests, however if you are not currently a member and would like to join for 2025, you will be grandfathered in for this event!
We are requesting $10 per person to help cover costs. Spouses / Partners / Guests / Children are welcome! (Children under 12 free)
2024 Turning Contest
Since this is our end-of-year celebration, the entries can be anything you’ve turned this year. Bring your best work from 2023!
Six Categories:
- Bowls
- Plates & Platters
- Hollow Forms / Vessels
- Boxes
- Ornaments (either hanging or free-standing, e.g., trees, snowmen, angels, nutcrackers, etc.)
- Miscellaneous (architectural turnings, furniture, treenware, pens – anything that doesn’t fit the first five categories)
Entries:
- Enter in as many categories as you like
- Please limit to only ONE entry per category
- Entries should be turned in the past year
- Bring your best work from 2024!
Judging:
- As always, everyone in attendance will vote by paper ballot for their favorites in each category
Prizes:
- $25 Gift Certificate for each category

Note: For high-value items, you can let us know what percentage of the proceeds should go to the Chapter.
