Description
This is the recording of our November 2024 meeting. For our November 2024 meeting, Al Miotke demonstrated his “Bowl From a Board” techniques. If you paid to attend the November meeting, you should have already received the link to this video via email. If you did not, contact us.
The bowl from a board has been around for centuries and has been a very simple and cost-effective technique to make a functional bowl. During the last 30 years, this concept has been expanded in many directions to create fascinating works of art.
This demo covered the basic steps to layout and assemble this style of bowl. Al then discussed – through photos and video clips – all the process steps to make more artistic designs. Finally, the demo proceeded to survey the many approaches used by contemporary artists to add artistic interest and complexity to the technique. You will be inspired to give this technique a try!
Check out Al’s website, for his bio, and more photos of his work.
