In lieu of our regular September meeting, we have arranged a field trip to the Winterthur Museum & Country Estate in Wilmington, Delaware. Club members and guests will be led on a woodlands walking tour by Kevin Braun, Garden and Estate Arborist at Winterthur. Kevin will identify various native tree species during the tour, which should be of practical interest to woodturners. Participants are encouraged to ask questions regarding tree identification, wood properties, etc.
Because it is a woodlands tour, there will be no admission charge; however we encourage folks to purchase tickets after the tour to enjoy the gardens and museum. The walking tour will be approximately 1.5 miles on moderately hilly paths with washed-out terrain in spots. Please wear appropriate shoes. Club members are encouraged to bring their spouses or other guests that might be interested.
