For our October 2025 meeting, we were excited to have the incredibly talented Rebecca DeGroot demonstrate for us. Rebecca demonstrated how she makes reclaimed skateboard ornaments, with emphasis on her finial techniques.
Rebecca DeGroot started woodworking with her father at a very young age and continued to refine her skill through college. Six years after graduating with Bachelor’s Degrees in Art Education and Sculpture and Functional Art, Rebecca divides her time between her full-time career as an art educator and her passion for woodworking.
Rebecca was also a featured demonstrator at the 2025 AAW International Woodturning Symposium in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
